Build a base on floating islands
Choose a suitable island
Select an island that's large enough for your planned structures and ideally surrounded by other islands for resource gathering. Flat islands are easier to build on than steep or small ones. Check that the island has solid ground—avoid building on thin sections that might collapse under weight.
Secure your perimeter
Build walls or fences around the edges of your island to prevent accidental falls. Use blocks you have in abundance. Consider building a roof or overhang to protect against Ghasts and other flying mobs.
Connect to nearby islands
Build bridges to adjacent islands to expand your accessible area and create supply routes. Use solid blocks for bridges—avoid gaps that mobs could exploit. You can create a network of connected islands to increase your base's footprint.
Plan for resources
Locate nearby lava pools for fuel and obsidian crafting. Position your base to access multiple biomes if possible, giving you varied resources without long travel times. Build storage and crafting areas in protected central locations.
