Why You Can't Attack a Mob (and Other Neruina Side Effects)
Players often notice odd behavior after Neruina kicks in and assume the mod is bugged. It isn't — these are the intended side effects of suspending a problem.
Common Confusing Symptoms
- A mob won't take damage. It's suspended. You can still interact with it (open its GUI, trade, etc.) but attacking does nothing. Use the kill action from the issue list instead.
- A block stopped working. Its ticking is halted, so redstone, processing, or growth logic won't run. You can still open the inventory and remove contents.
- An item won't do its thing in a chest. It's been prevented from ticking while stored. It still works as a crafting ingredient.
- You got kicked from the server. Your own action caused a ticking crash, so you were removed to protect everyone else. Rejoin and avoid repeating whatever you did.
What to Do About It
Don't try to force the suspended thing to behave — that's what caused the crash. Instead, treat the suspension as a signal: something is broken. Clear the cause (kill the mob, break the block, remove the item), then check the issue list to confirm the entry is gone. If it keeps returning, the mod or setup producing it needs updating or removal.
