Adjust Scanline Intensity for Comfortable Viewing
Finding the Scanline Settings
The CRT scanline effect is one of Neon Grid Horizon's signature features, but the intensity can be overwhelming during long play sessions. Access shader settings through your shader menu (usually opened via a keybind in your video settings or mod menu).
Reducing Screen Flicker
Look for scanline or CRT-related sliders in the shader configuration panel. Most shader packs offer opacity or intensity controls for screen effects. Lower the value gradually until the horizontal lines become subtle rather than distracting. A good starting point is around 30–50% intensity, which preserves the retro aesthetic without causing eye strain.
If your shader menu includes separate controls for line thickness or frequency, thinner lines are generally easier on the eyes during extended play. You can also toggle the effect entirely if you want the neon colors without the scanlines.
Testing Your Changes
After adjusting, spend a few minutes in different lighting conditions—caves, surface, and night—to ensure the effect feels right. Shader changes apply immediately, so you can fine-tune in real time without restarting.
