Setting Up a New Guide

To create a custom guidebook, you need to add Markdown files to your mod's documentation folder. The Knowledge Codex mod reads .md files and renders them directly in-game.

1. Create a folder structure in your mod resources: assets/yourmodid/docs/

2. Add a front matter section at the top of your .md file using triple dashes:

3. Write your content using standard Markdown: headings with ##, lists with -, and bold text with **

4. Save the file and launch the game

Organizing Multiple Pages

For larger guides, organize pages into subdirectories. The mod respects folder hierarchy, so docs/getting-started/first-steps.md becomes a nested entry in your guidebook menu. Use consistent naming and front matter across all files to keep navigation clean and readable.
