Resolve Mod Conflicts and Crashes

Identifying the Problem Mod

When mods conflict, your game will crash on startup or during play. The crash log contains vital information about which mod caused the issue.

1. Check your latest crash log (usually in the logs folder)

2. Search for the mod name or a distinctive error message

3. Note which mods were involved in the conflict

Isolating and Testing

1. Remove all mods from your mods folder

2. Add mods back one or two at a time

3. Launch the game after each addition

4. When a crash occurs, you've found a conflicting mod or an incompatible version

Resolving Conflicts

  • Version mismatch: Ensure all mods match your Minecraft version
  • Incompatible mods: Some mods don't work together; check mod documentation for known conflicts
  • Missing dependencies: Some mods require other mods to function; install required dependencies
  • Update mods: Newer versions often fix compatibility issues

If two mods genuinely conflict and can't coexist, you'll need to choose which one to keep.
