Preparing Your Mods Folder

NeoForge automatically creates a mods folder in your game directory when you first launch it. This is where all your mod files (.jar files) belong.

Adding Mods to Your Game

1. Download mod files compatible with your Minecraft version from mod repositories

2. Place the .jar files directly into the mods folder

3. Launch Minecraft through the NeoForge profile in your launcher

5. Check the main menu; if mods loaded successfully, you'll see a "Mods" button

Verifying Mods Are Loaded

Click the "Mods" button from the title screen to see a list of all active mods. Each mod should display its name, version, and description. If a mod doesn't appear, check that:

• The file is a .jar (not .zip or other format)
• It's compatible with your Minecraft version
• There are no conflicting mods causing crashes

If crashes occur, remove mods one at a time to identify the problem.
