Troubleshoot Shader Pack Issues
Shader Won't Load or Appears Broken
If a shader pack isn't working properly:
1. Verify the .zip file is placed directly in the shaderpacks folder (not in a subfolder)
2. Check that the file isn't corrupted by re-downloading it
3. Ensure the shader pack is compatible with your Minecraft version — older packs may not work with newer versions
4. Try a different, well-known shader pack to confirm Neoculus is functioning
Performance Issues or Crashes
- Extreme lag: Lower shader options or switch to a less demanding shader pack
- Game crashes on shader load: Your GPU may not support the shader; try a simpler alternative
- Missing textures or visual glitches: Update your graphics drivers
Reverting to Default
If you want to disable shaders entirely, return to Video Settings → Shaders and select None at the top of the list. This restores vanilla rendering while keeping Neoculus installed.
