Fixing Bees That Fall Out of the Sky or Wander Northwest
The two movement bugs this mod repairs
Two long-standing bee pathing problems are addressed here. The first is the falling bug: bees that lose their path would sometimes drop straight out of the air for no reason, which killed them or scattered them far from their hive. The second is the walking direction bug, where bees on the ground would always drift toward the northwest regardless of where they were supposed to go.
What changes in practice
- Bees no longer plummet when they cannot find a valid path. They will hover or re-route instead of dropping.
- Ground movement is corrected, so bees wander in normal random directions rather than always heading northwest.
How to use this in your builds
If you keep bees in a confined area, you may have noticed them piling up in one corner or falling through gaps. After installing this mod, re-test your enclosure. Bees should spread out more naturally and stop dropping through openings they previously fell through. For farms that rely on bees returning to a specific hive, the reduced falling means fewer lost bees and more consistent honey production. You do not need to change your farm design, but you can now build with taller open spaces without worrying as much about bees dropping out of them.
