Using NBT Autocomplete to Give Yourself Items with Custom NBT Data

Build the item NBT step by step

Type /give @s minecraft:diamond_sword{ and watch the suggestion list populate with tags that apply to items, such as display, Enchantments, Unbreakable, and AttributeModifiers. Select a tag with the arrow keys and press Tab to insert it. The mod will then prompt you for the next level of the structure.

For display, for instance, it suggests the nested keys Name, Lore, and color. Name expects a string in quotes, so type "My Sword" after inserting it. For Enchantments, the mod suggests the enchantment IDs and the lvl key inside each entry.

Avoid common syntax mistakes

Because the mod shows you the exact key names and value shapes, you sidestep the usual errors: forgetting the b suffix on a byte, using the wrong bracket type for a list versus a compound, or misspelling Unbreakable. If a tag you expected does not appear, it may belong to a different category (block entity versus item) or require a component-style format in your game version — try the tag on a different command target to confirm.

Finish the command with } and run it. The item will appear in your inventory with the NBT you specified.
