How Armor Trims Work in Naturally Trimmed
Naturally Trimmed Explained
Naturally Trimmed changes where armor trims come from. In vanilla, trims are applied by the player at a smithing table using templates and materials. This mod instead rolls trims automatically onto gear that generates in the world.
The mod hooks into several sources of equipment:
- Mob-spawned gear — armor worn by naturally spawning mobs can carry a random trim.
- Looted gear — armor found in structure chests, villager trades, and piglin bartering may arrive pre-trimmed.
- Tools — trimmed tools are supported when a compatible mod such as Tool Trims is installed.
Which trims appear, and how often, is handled by the mod's config, so you can tune how common decorated gear is. Because trims are applied at generation rather than by crafting, you cannot choose the pattern or material yourself — you simply find gear that already carries them. The result is that exploration and combat yield visually varied equipment without any extra steps.
