How to Survive Underwater with Amphibious Hands and Gills
Drowning is one of the most common deaths in Minecraft, and this mod offers several
trinkets to fix it.
Amphibious Hands and
Gills are the two main water-breathing options, and they work slightly differently.
Equipping Water Breathing Trinkets
Craft or find
Gills or
Amphibious Hands and place them in a trinket slot.
Gills typically grant permanent water breathing while equipped, so you can stay submerged indefinitely.
Amphibious Hands usually combine water breathing with improved underwater mining speed, letting you break blocks at normal speed instead of the slow underwater rate.
Using Them Effectively
With a water breathing trinket equipped, you can explore ocean monuments, flooded caves, and shipwrecks without worrying about air. Bring a good pickaxe and a light source. If you also have the
Ethereal Wings, you can swim and glide through water quickly. For deep dives, combine water breathing with night vision (from a
Blindfold or similar trinket) so you can actually see what you are doing.
Tips
- Water breathing does not protect against magma
blocks or guardians, so bring armor and healing. - Pair
Amphibious Hands with a haste effect or efficiency enchant for fast underwater mining. - If you lose the trinket mid-dive, surface immediately; the effect ends the moment it is unequipped.
