How to Store and Retrieve Experience with the Experience Battery

The Experience Battery lets you bank XP so you do not lose it on death and can spend it later on enchanting or repairs. It is one of the most useful utility trinkets in the mod for players who hate grinding levels back.

Charging the Battery

Equip the Experience Battery in a trinket slot. While it is equipped, XP you pick up will be stored in the battery instead of (or in addition to) your own level bar, depending on how the mod is configured. Mine, smelt, and kill mobs as normal and watch the battery fill. Some versions require you to sneak-use or right-click the battery to toggle absorption on and off.

Withdrawing XP

When you need levels back, right-click while holding the battery (or use it from the trinket slot) to release stored XP into your level bar. This is handy right before enchanting at a table or using an anvil. If you are about to fight a boss or enter a dangerous area, empty the battery into yourself first so you have levels for enchants, then refill afterward.

Tips

  • Store XP before risky fights so a death does not wipe your progress.
  • Pair it with the Experience Magnet so dropped XP orbs fly to you and get banked automatically.
  • Keep the battery in a trinket slot, not a chest, so it keeps working while you adventure.
