Adjust Lighting Intensity for Your Playstyle
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game. This is typically found in your Video Settings under Shaders, then by selecting the shader name to open its configuration panel.
Customize Light Spread
Look for settings related to light brightness, ambient light, or global illumination. N87 Shaders allows you to control how far light travels from torches and other sources. If caves feel too dark for your preference, increase ambient light values. If you want more dramatic shadows and contrast, reduce these settings.
Fine-Tune Shadow Intensity
Locate shadow-related sliders. You can adjust shadow darkness and softness independently. Softer shadows create a more forgiving look, while harder shadows increase visual drama and realism.
Test Your Changes
Apply settings and move through different environments—caves, forests, and open sky—to see how adjustments affect visibility and mood. Revisit the menu to refine values until the lighting matches your desired balance between realism and playability. Remember that time of day affects how your settings look, so test at different times.
