Using Data-Driven Configuration Files

What Are Data Files?

Mythic Lib mods use configuration files (usually JSON or similar formats) stored in your world or mod folder. These files define how items, skills, effects, and stats behave without requiring code changes.

Finding Configuration Files

Look in:

  • .minecraft/config/ folder (for global mod settings)
  • World-specific folders (for per-world customization)
  • Mod documentation for exact file paths

Editing Configurations

1. Back up files before making changes

2. Open with a text editor (Notepad++, VS Code, or similar)

3. Follow the existing format carefully—syntax errors will break functionality

4. Save and reload your world or restart the game

Common Customizations

Depending on your mods, you might adjust:

  • Item stat bonuses
  • Skill cooldowns and costs
  • Effect durations
  • Progression requirements

Always check your mod's wiki or config comments for guidance on what each value does. Incorrect edits can cause crashes or unintended behavior.
