How to Create a Custom Crop Tier in Mystical Customization

Understand What a Tier Controls

Tiers in Mystical Agriculture determine the crafting progression of seeds — which essence and materials are needed to craft the next tier up. Mystical Customization lets you define your own tiers so you can insert a new step into the progression or reorder the existing ones. Tier files live in config/mysticalcustomization/tiers/.

Write the Tier JSON

Each tier file defines a name and the crafting requirements used to upgrade seeds into that tier. You list the ingredients (essence items and any filler items) and how many of each are needed. The exact field names mirror the defaults — open one of the built-in tier files first and copy its structure. If you are adding a tier between two existing ones, make sure the tier below it crafts into your new tier, and your new tier crafts into the tier above. Crops reference tiers by name, so any crop you want in this tier must have its tier field set to your new tier's name.

Avoid Breaking Progression

Because tiers chain together, a typo in a tier name will leave seeds uncraftable. After editing, reload and check JEI for the seed recipes. Confirm every tier still has a valid path from the lowest tier to the highest, and that no crop points at a tier that no longer exists.
