How to Add or Edit Mob Soul Types
Where Soul Types Are Defined
Mob Soul Types control which mobs can be captured into a Soul Jar and what essence or drops they yield. Mystical Customization stores these in config/mysticalcustomization/mob_souls/ (or the equivalent soul-types folder). Each file maps a mob to a soul type and its associated output.
Define a New Soul Type
Create a new JSON file and give it a name. Then specify the entity it applies to using the mob's registry ID (for example, the vanilla entity ID string). Set the output — typically an essence item and a quantity — that the soul produces when processed. If you want the soul to be usable in a specific crafting chain, make sure the essence you output matches an essence that exists in your crop or item setup. You can also edit an existing soul file to change its output or reassign it to a different mob.
Test Capture and Processing
Reload the config, then capture the target mob in a Soul Jar in-game to confirm it registers. Process the soul through the normal
Mystical Agriculture machinery and verify the correct output appears. If the mob does not register, double-check the entity ID spelling against the game's registry — an incorrect ID silently fails to match.
