Harvesting the Horn

Approach a tamed adult unicorn with shears in hand. Use the shears on the unicorn's horn to harvest it. The horn will drop as an item you can collect. The unicorn will survive this process, and its horn will gradually regrow over time.

Crafting a Bonded Whistle

Take the harvested horn to a crafting table. Combine it with other materials to create a bonded summoning horn tied specifically to that unicorn. This crafted item becomes a unique link between you and your mount.

Using the Summoning Horn

Hold the bonded horn in your hand and right-click to sound it. Your unicorn will be called to your location across long distances, even across different dimensions. This is invaluable for retrieving your mount if it wanders far or if you travel to the Nether or End.

Note that the summoning horn has a cooldown period between uses, so plan accordingly when traveling between distant locations.
