Finding and Taming Your First Unicorn

Locating Wild Herds

Winged unicorns spawn naturally in survival biomes as herds containing both adults and foals. Explore diverse biomes like plains, forests, and flower forests to find them grazing. Adults are larger and rideable; foals are younger and cannot be mounted.

Taming Process

Approach an adult unicorn slowly to avoid startling it. Interact with the unicorn repeatedly using your hand or a taming item until hearts appear above its head, indicating successful taming. A tamed unicorn will follow you and respond to your commands.

Once tamed, equip a saddle on your unicorn by opening its inventory menu. This allows you to mount and ride it for both ground travel and flight. Tamed unicorns remember you across sessions and won't despawn.

Tips

Tame multiple unicorns to build a small herd for companionship or backup mounts. Foals will grow into adults over time, so consider keeping young ones if you want variety. Different color variants are purely cosmetic but make your mount visually unique among your herd.
