Disable a Server Resource Pack Without Breaking Custom Items

The Problem

Servers often bundle custom item textures with unwanted visual changes—ugly GUIs, replaced default blocks, or altered sounds. You need the custom items but not the rest.

Solution: Selective Pack Rejection

1. Open the mod's configuration menu (usually accessible from the main menu or in-game settings).

2. Locate the server resource pack in the pack list—it typically appears at the top or marked as "Server Pack."

3. Access the pack's detail view to see which resources it contains.

4. Disable the entire pack first to confirm which textures/assets you actually need.

5. Re-enable the pack, then use the mod's filtering or override options to selectively disable specific resource types (textures, models, sounds, etc.).

6. Test in-game: custom items should display correctly while unwanted visuals revert to default or your preferred texture pack.

Tip

If the server pack contains critical custom item models, keep those enabled while disabling cosmetic changes like block textures or GUI skins. Check the pack details to identify which resources matter for gameplay.
