Troubleshoot Music Not Playing
Check Mod Dependencies
MusicLayer is a foundation mod—it doesn't add music by itself. Music only plays when other mods that use MusicLayer are installed. Verify that you have mods that actually provide soundtracks.
Verify Audio System
Ensure your Minecraft audio settings are not muted:
- Open Settings → Music & Sounds
- Check that Master Volume is above 0%
- Verify that Music volume slider is enabled
File Format Issues
MusicLayer only plays Ogg Vorbis (.ogg) files. If a mod provides music in other formats (MP3, WAV, FLAC), it won't play through this mod's audio layer.
Web Streaming Problems
If web-hosted music fails to load:
- Check your internet connection
- Verify the remote file URL is still active
- Check your firewall isn't blocking Minecraft's network access
Performance Impact
If music causes lag, reduce other background tasks or allocate more RAM to Minecraft. MusicLayer streams efficiently, but system resources still matter.
