Setting Up a Murder Mystery Game on Just Village
Preparing the Map
Before starting, ensure all players have spawned and can see the village clearly. Designate one player as the murderer and give them a weapon or identifying item so everyone knows who to avoid. All other players are innocents who must survive or identify the killer.
Establishing Game Rules
Decide on your group's rules before playing:
- Safe zones: Agree whether certain buildings (like the market or towers) are off-limits
- Time limit: Set how long the game lasts before innocents win
- Hiding spots: Establish if players can hide inside all buildings or only specific ones
- River crossing: Decide if the river and bridges are traversable or act as boundaries
Starting the Game
Have the murderer count down from a set number while innocents scatter throughout the village. Use the towers to spot players from above, hide in the wooden houses, or blend into the market area. The river and stone bridges provide natural escape routes and hiding places. Keep communication clear so everyone understands the current game state and any rule changes mid-game.
