Add Cooldown Timers to Prevent Portal Spam

Set a Cooldown Duration

Use /mvp modify cooldown [seconds] to prevent players from using the same portal repeatedly in quick succession. This stops spam and can balance gameplay by making portals less convenient for rapid travel.

How Cooldowns Work

Once a player enters a portal, they cannot use any portal for the specified duration. The cooldown timer is per-player, so multiple players can use portals simultaneously without affecting each other's timers. If a player tries to enter a portal before their cooldown expires, they'll be blocked from passing through.

Adjust Based on Server Needs

Test different cooldown values to find what works for your server. Short cooldowns (5-10 seconds) work well for hub portals with frequent traffic. Longer cooldowns (30-60 seconds) suit long-distance travel portals. Use /mvp list to review all portal settings and verify cooldowns are applied correctly.
