How to Reset or Clear a Player's Inventory in a Specific World

When You Need This

Sometimes a player's stored inventory for a particular world becomes corrupted, contains exploit items, or needs to be wiped as part of an event or punishment. Multiverse-Inventories stores per-world and per-group inventories, so you can target a specific world without affecting the player's items elsewhere.

Locating the Right Storage

Before clearing anything, identify which group or world the player's inventory belongs to. Run /mvinv info <worldname> to see whether that world is isolated or part of a group. If it's in a group, clearing the group inventory affects every world in that group for that player.

Clearing the Inventory

1. Make sure the player is offline, or warn them that their current session's items will be lost.

2. Use the plugin's admin commands to target the player and the relevant world or group.

3. Confirm the action when prompted.

The next time the player enters that world, they will start with an empty inventory for that context. Their items in other worlds or groups remain untouched.

Restoring from Backup

Multiverse-Inventories writes player data to disk, so if you cleared something by mistake, restore the relevant data file from your server backups. Always take a fresh backup before performing bulk inventory operations, especially on a populated server. Test the clear command on your own account first to confirm the scope of what gets removed.
