Plan Your Base Location Across Multiple Biomes

Scout the Island First

Before committing to a base location, walk the perimeter of the island and note where each biome transitions. Pay attention to biomes that offer resources you'll need frequently—wood from forests, sand from deserts, and ice from snow biomes are all valuable early on.

Choose a Central Hub or Specialized Outposts

You have two main strategies:

Single Central Base: Pick a location near the middle of the island where multiple biomes meet. This minimizes travel time but requires careful planning since space is tight. Build vertically or use compact designs.

Multiple Outposts: Establish small resource-gathering stations in each major biome cluster, then connect them with paths or bridges. This spreads your infrastructure but lets you specialize each outpost for its local resources.

Account for Mob Spawning Differences

Remember that different biomes spawn different mobs. Snow areas attract creepers and skeletons, jungles spawn spiders and creepers, and deserts have fewer hostile mobs at night. Factor this into your defensive planning—you may want your base in a biome with naturally lower mob density, or build walls that account for varied terrain types around you.
