Recording and Replaying Player Movement

Capturing and Replaying Motion

Start a recording with /mocap recording start. By default this captures your own movements, but you can also target a specific player so their actions are recorded instead. While active, the mod tracks a wide range of behavior: sprinting, jumping, swimming, and sneaking, plus hand swings, item use, held items and worn armor, and visual states such as being on fire, invisible, or glowing. It also records block placement, breaking, and interaction, along with nearby entities and riding them.

Once you have captured what you need, stop the recording and replay it. Replays reproduce the recorded actions in your world, so you can build scenes without needing real players present. You can combine multiple recordings and adjust parameters like the displayed player name and skin to tailor each scene. This makes it straightforward to stage complex sequences, from simple movement loops to detailed interactions with blocks and entities.
