Mine Ores Efficiently in Detailed Underground Environments
Spotting Ores in Realistic Stone
The Mostly True Beneath Resource Pack retextures stone blocks with photorealistic detail, which can initially make ore spotting feel harder. However, ore blocks are intentionally kept clearly visible to maintain gameplay clarity. They stand out against the detailed stone background because their textures remain distinct.
As you explore, your eyes will adjust to the new stone appearance. Ores will pop out naturally once you're familiar with how the surrounding blocks look. The pack prioritizes readability—no texture is so realistic that it hides valuable resources.
Mining Strategy
Use adequate lighting when mining. Torches and lanterns make ore blocks easier to spot against detailed stone walls. Branch mining works as effectively as in vanilla Minecraft; the improved textures don't change ore distribution or visibility significantly.
Pay attention to deepslate ores in deeper layers. These have been completely retextured and look distinctly different from regular stone ores, making them easy to identify once you reach lower depths.
Preserving Your Experience
Don't rush through caves. The detailed textures reward careful exploration. You might notice geological patterns—layered stone, mineral veins, and natural formations—that make the underground feel like an authentic environment worth investigating thoroughly.
