Optimize Performance in Dense Forests and Swamps
Reduce Visual Complexity
The Mostly True Above Resource Pack uses 64x resolution textures that demand significant GPU and CPU resources, especially in biomes with heavy vegetation like forests and swamps. To maintain playable framerates:
- Lower your render distance to 12–16 chunks instead of the default 32. This reduces the number of detailed textures being rendered simultaneously.
- Disable or reduce particle effects in video settings. The realistic textures generate more visual information, making particles more taxing.
- Turn off smooth lighting or set it to minimum if you experience stuttering.
- Close unnecessary background applications to free up system RAM.
Adjust Texture Settings
If your computer still struggles:
- Check if your resource pack launcher offers mipmap settings. Enabling mipmaps helps distant blocks render more efficiently.
- Consider using a smaller mipmap level (1–2) rather than disabled, as this balances detail with performance.
- If available, disable connected textures temporarily in mod settings to reduce processing overhead.
- Monitor your frame rate using F3 debug screen and aim for consistent 30+ FPS in complex areas.
These adjustments preserve the realistic aesthetic while keeping the game playable on mid-range systems.
