Require a Specific Biome for Workstation Crafting

Setting Up Biome Restrictions

Use biome requirements to lock crafting or upgrades to specific environments. This is useful for thematic progression—for example, only allowing aquatic upgrades near oceans or nether-themed modifications in the Nether.

How to Configure

1. Open your schematic or effect configuration file in the mod's data folder

2. Add a biome requirement condition to your crafting rule

3. Specify the biome(s) where the workstation must be placed using their registry names (e.g., minecraft:ocean, minecraft:forest)

4. You can require a single biome or allow multiple biomes in a list

5. Test by placing your workstation in the specified biome and attempting to craft

Tips

  • Combine biome checks with other conditions (like time of day or weather) for more complex progression gates
  • Use biome categories if you want to affect multiple related biomes at once
  • Players can move their workstation to meet biome requirements, so this works best paired with other immobile checks like dimension requirements
