Create Weather-Dependent Crafting Requirements
Using Weather as a Crafting Gate
Weather requirements add atmospheric conditions to your crafting rules. You can require clear skies, rain, or thunderstorms before players can modify equipment. This creates immersive progression moments and encourages players to plan ahead.
Setting Up Weather Checks
1. Open your schematic or effect configuration
2. Add a weather requirement condition
3. Choose your weather type: clear, rain, or thunderstorm
4. The workstation will only allow crafting when that weather is active
5. Test by waiting for or using commands to trigger the required weather
Combining Conditions
Weather works best paired with other requirements:
- Require thunderstorms + high amplifier potion effects for dangerous upgrades
- Combine clear skies with specific biomes for rare, peaceful modifications
- Mix weather with time-of-day checks for very specific windows
Player Experience
Weather-gated recipes encourage players to explore and adapt. They create natural pacing breaks and make certain upgrades feel special. Consider your pack's difficulty when setting these—rare weather types should gate less critical upgrades.
