How to Set Up a Zombie Villager Spawner or Grinder

Choosing a Location

A grinder works best where zombies naturally spawn in large numbers. Caves, mineshafts, and dark underground areas are ideal. Because this mod increases the proportion of zombies that are villagers, any existing zombie grinder automatically produces more zombie villagers without extra building.

Basic Grinder Design

1. Clear a large dark area (light level 0) for spawning. The bigger the floor, the more spawns.

2. Use water channels to funnel mobs toward a central point.

3. Drop them a short distance so they take fall damage but don't die, or use a killing chamber where you finish them off.

4. Add a hopper and chest below the kill point to collect drops.

Capturing Zombie Villagers

If your goal is curing rather than drops, modify the grinder so mobs arrive alive. Route them into a holding cell instead of a kill chamber. Use a trapdoor or fence gate to let you access them safely. From there, apply Weakness and a golden apple to begin curing.

Tuning Spawn Rates

If too many zombie villagers are clogging your grinder, lower zombieIsVillagerChance in the config. If you want a dedicated zombie villager farm, raise it. Remember that mob caps still apply, so a grinder near other players or mobs will produce fewer spawns overall.
