How to Change the Zombie Villager Spawn Chance in the Config

Finding the Config File

After launching the game once with the mod installed, a config file is generated in your Minecraft config folder. Look for a file named after the mod (something like morezombievillagers or similar). Open it with any plain text editor. Inside you'll find a single setting called zombieIsVillagerChance, which controls the probability that any zombie that spawns will actually be a zombie villager.

Setting Your Value

By default this value is set to 25, meaning 25% of zombies become zombie villagers. You can change it to anything between 0 and 100:

  • Set it to 0 to disable zombie villager spawns entirely.
  • Set it to 100 to make every zombie a zombie villager.
  • Use values like 50 for a half-and-half mix.

Save the file and restart Minecraft (or reload the config if your mod loader supports it) for the change to take effect. On a server, edit the config on the server side so all players share the same rate. If you play singleplayer, only your local config matters.

Verifying the Change

Load a world at night or in a dark cave and watch zombie spawns. If you set a high value, you should quickly see villagers among the zombies. If nothing changes, double-check you edited the correct file and that no other mod is overriding zombie spawn logic.
