Breeding Mushrooms with Variants
Gathering Breeding Materials
Collect mushrooms from your biome and bone meal. You'll need at least two mushrooms of the same color to breed them. The new variants breed using the same mechanics as vanilla mushrooms.
Setting Up a Breeding Area
Place mycelium or podzol in a flat area. Space out your mushrooms with at least one block between them. Ensure the area has low light levels—mushrooms breed best in darkness or dim conditions. Consider building a roof or enclosure to control lighting.
Breeding Process
Use bone meal on mushrooms to accelerate growth and breeding. When two mushrooms of the same color are close enough, they'll spread to adjacent mycelium blocks. The new variants will appear randomly among the offspring, giving you a natural mix of shapes and sizes.
Harvesting Results
Once you have a good variety of variants growing, harvest selectively to maintain your breeding population. Collect the diverse variants for use in building projects. This method ensures a steady supply of mixed mushroom types for large-scale construction.
