Getting a Dragon Egg Without Pushing It Off the Portal

Newly spawned eggs from this mod sit on the exit portal exactly like the vanilla one, so the usual retrieval tricks apply. If you lose an egg to the void, you'll need to respawn and kill the dragon again.

Safe retrieval methods

• Torch method: Break the block under the egg and place a torch in the gap. The egg falls onto the torch and drops as an item.
• Piston method: Place a piston facing the egg, power it, and the egg pops off as an item. Make sure there's a solid floor beneath it.
• Block-push method: Carefully push the egg with a piston onto a safe platform, then mine the block under it.

Avoiding common mistakes

• Never punch the egg directly — it teleports a short distance and can land in lava, the void, or off the island.
• Build a small platform or wall around the portal before you start farming so eggs can't slide off.
• If you're farming many eggs, set up a hopper or chest nearby so dropped eggs don't despawn while you fight the next dragon.
• Keep a spare egg in a safe chest before experimenting with redstone or pistons near your farm.
