Control Cloud Speed and Movement Patterns

How Cloud Speeds Work

More Cloud Layers Mod allows each cloud layer to move at different speeds, creating depth and visual interest as you watch the sky. By default, higher layers often move slower than lower ones, mimicking atmospheric perspective.

Customizing Speed Settings

In your mod configuration, you'll find options to set individual layer speeds or enable randomized movement. Choosing random speed means each layer gets a unique velocity, making the sky feel more dynamic and natural.

If you prefer predictable movement, manually assign specific speed values to each layer. Slower speeds create a calm, meditative atmosphere, while faster clouds add energy and urgency to your world.

Applying Changes

Speed adjustments take effect when you load a new world or update an existing one by sleeping in a bed. Travel through portals also refreshes cloud behavior, allowing you to test different configurations without restarting.

Watch the clouds from a high vantage point—a tall tower or mountain—to best observe how different layers move relative to each other.
