Breeding Baby Mobs from Adults
Feeding Adults to Create Babies
The primary way to obtain baby mobs is by breeding adult mobs, similar to vanilla Minecraft mechanics. Feed two adult mobs of the same species their preferred food item to trigger breeding.
Breeding Requirements
- You need two adult mobs of the same type
- Both must be fed their preferred food (wheat for most animals, fish for aquatic mobs, etc.)
- They must be close together
- After feeding, they will enter love mode and produce a baby
Baby Growth
Newborn babies will be noticeably smaller than adults. They cannot breed immediately—babies must grow to full size before they can be used for further breeding. During growth, babies follow their parents and learn their behavior patterns.
Passive vs. Hostile Breeding
Passive mobs breed peacefully and babies inherit safe behavior. Hostile mob babies (Zombie, Skeleton) will still be aggressive when fully grown, so plan your breeding areas accordingly with proper containment.
