Decide Your Material

Choose between emerald (found in mountain biomes, traded with villagers) or lapis lazuli (mined from lapis ore deep underground). Both create full armor and tool sets with distinct appearances.

Collect Your Chosen Material

For emeralds: Mine emerald ore in extreme hills or similar mountain terrain, or trade with librarian villagers. For lapis: Mine lapis lazuli ore blocks with a stone pickaxe or better, typically found between Y-levels -16 and 64.

Craft Armor and Tools

Use the same crafting patterns as copper or iron:

• Armor pieces follow standard helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots layouts
• Tools use your material plus regular sticks (not blaze sticks)

Enjoy Unique Aesthetics

Emerald gear displays a vibrant green appearance, while lapis lazuli gear shows a rich blue color. Both materials provide protection and durability comparable to iron-tier equipment. These options let you customize your loadout while using materials you'd otherwise store away.
