Craft Your First Copper Armor Set
Gather Copper Ore
Mine copper ore from stone blocks underground, typically found between Y-levels 0 and 96. You'll need enough raw copper to smelt into copper ingots for a full armor set (helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots).
Smelt and Craft
Place your raw copper in a furnace or blast furnace to create copper ingots. Once you have your ingots, open a crafting table.
Assemble Your Armor
Use the standard Minecraft armor crafting patterns:
- Helmet: Arrange 5 copper ingots in a U-shape at the top of the grid
- Chestplate: Place 8 ingots in a T-shape, leaving the center empty
- Leggings: Arrange 7 ingots in an upside-down T, leaving the top center empty
- Boots: Place 4 ingots in the bottom corners of the grid
Your new copper armor will appear in the output slot. Equip it immediately for protection during your next adventure. Copper armor provides solid defense comparable to iron, making it an excellent early-game upgrade when you have copper but haven't yet found iron deposits.
