Why Moonlight Lib Has Almost No Items (and What to Do About It)

It is a library, not a content mod

New players often install Moonlight Lib expecting a full mod with tools, armor, and machines, then get confused when they only see a single block. Moonlight Lib is a dependency: it provides shared code that other mods call into. Its job is to make those mods work, not to add gameplay of its own. The Spawn Box is essentially the only player-facing block it ships.

What this means for your setup

If you installed Moonlight Lib by itself, you will see almost nothing new in-game. That is normal and not a bug. To actually get content, you need at least one mod that depends on Moonlight Lib. Common signs you have such a mod installed:

  • The mod's description or dependencies list mentions Moonlight Lib.
  • You see Moonlight-related entries in your mod list alongside another mod.
  • The Spawn Box appears in creative and has a working interface.

Practical steps

1. Open your mod list and look for mods whose dependencies include Moonlight Lib.

2. If you find none, add a mod that requires it, or remove Moonlight Lib if you do not want its dependents.

3. Do not try to craft or use the Spawn Box in isolation; it only functions in combination with a dependent mod.

4. If a dependent mod's features are missing, check that Moonlight Lib is present and enabled, since that mod will not load correctly without it.
