How to Get and Place a Spawn Box Block

What the Spawn Box actually is

Moonlight Lib is a shared library mod, which means most of its content exists to support other mods rather than to be used on its own. The one block it exposes directly is the Spawn Box. It is a utility block used by dependent mods to control or trigger mob spawning in a defined area, so you will usually encounter it while setting up farms, spawners, or mob-related contraptions from mods that rely on Moonlight Lib.

Getting the block

Because Moonlight Lib is a library, the Spawn Box is not something you craft from a normal survival recipe in most setups. The reliable ways to obtain it are:

  • Check the creative inventory under the Moonlight Lib tab or search for "Spawn Box" in the creative search bar.
  • If you are in survival, look at the mod that depends on Moonlight Lib (for example a mob-farm or spawning mod) and check its own recipes or JEI/REI entries, since that mod may add a recipe that produces the Spawn Box.

Placing and using it

Place the Spawn Box like any normal block. Once placed, interact with it to open its interface if the dependent mod provides one. The block itself does not spawn mobs on its own; it acts as a marker or controller that the parent mod reads. If nothing happens after placing it, that is expected: you need the mod that uses Moonlight Lib installed and configured for the Spawn Box to do anything.
