Fixing a Missing or Broken Spawn Box
First checks
If the Spawn Box is missing from your world or its interface does nothing, the cause is almost always a dependency problem rather than the block itself. Moonlight Lib only provides the block; the mod that uses it provides the behavior. Start by confirming Moonlight Lib is installed and enabled in your mod list, and that any mod depending on it is also present and the correct version for your game.
Common causes and fixes
- Block does not appear in creative or JEI/REI: the dependent mod is missing or failed to load. Re-add it and restart.
- Block places but does nothing on right-click: the dependent mod is present but its spawning logic is not
configured, or the block needs to be linked to that mod's system first. Check that mod's own documentation for how it expects the Spawn Box to be set up. - Block disappears or errors on load: a version mismatch between Moonlight Lib and the mod using it. Align the versions so the library matches what the dependent mod expects.
When to look elsewhere
Because Moonlight Lib is shared, bugs in spawning behavior usually belong to the dependent mod, not to Moonlight Lib. If the Spawn Box places fine but mobs spawn incorrectly, report it to the mod that owns the spawning feature. Only report to Moonlight Lib if the block itself fails to register or the game crashes on load with a Moonlight-related error.
