Optimize Frame Rate While Keeping Visual Quality

Identify Performance Settings

Access the shader configuration menu and locate the Performance or Optimization section. Moon Shaders is designed to be lightweight, but you can further tune it for your system.

Reduce Demanding Features Selectively

  • Bloom Effect: Disable or reduce the glow intensity on bright objects and light sources. This has noticeable performance impact.
  • Shadow Quality: Lower shadow softness settings to reduce calculations without removing shadows entirely.
  • Water Reflections: Decrease reflection distance or detail if you're near water-heavy areas like oceans or swamps.
  • Cloud Detail: Reduce cloud complexity for faster sky rendering.

Monitor and Balance

Make one change at a time and check your frame rate using the F3 debug screen. Moon Shaders maintains good performance even with most settings enabled, so you likely won't need aggressive cuts. Aim to disable only the most visually subtle features first—like reducing bloom intensity—before cutting major effects like reflections.
