How to Tell Whether the Mod Is Working Correctly
What a Working Highlight Looks Like
The mod only activates when the sleep-fail message is specifically about monsters being nearby. If you get a different message — such as not being able to sleep because it is daytime, or because the bed is obstructed — no highlight will appear. That is intended behavior, not a bug.
Quick Verification Steps
1. Make sure a hostile mob is actually within range of your bed.
2. Attempt to sleep and read the message carefully.
3. If the message mentions monsters nearby, watch for the glow within the next few seconds.
4. If you see the outline, the mod is functioning.
Common Reasons for No Highlight
- The sleep failure was caused by something other than nearby monsters.
- The highlight already expired — it only lasts a short time, so it can be missed if you look away.
- On a server, the mod may only be installed on the client, so only the sleeping player sees it.
- The mob is outside the mod's detection range even though it still blocks sleep.
If the highlight never appears despite a monster message, double-check that the mod is loaded on the correct side (client or server).
