What MonoLib Does and How to Use It

Understanding MonoLib

MonoLib is a library mod, not a content mod. It adds no blocks, items, entities, or gameplay on its own, so installing it by itself will not change your world in any visible way.

Its purpose is to support other mods. It provides shared code and helper methods that those mods rely on to interact with the Minecraft environment more easily. This means MonoLib is a dependency: if another mod was built against it, that mod needs MonoLib present to function correctly.

Practical Use

For players, there is nothing to configure or craft. Simply having MonoLib installed alongside the mods that depend on it is enough. If you remove it, dependent mods may fail to load or behave incorrectly.

If you are a developer, MonoLib offers additional functionalities and streamlined methods for common tasks, reducing the amount of boilerplate you need to write. Consult the mod's own documentation for the specific APIs it exposes, since those details are defined by the library itself rather than by this guide.
