Establish a Safe Food Farm
Prepare Your Farming Space
Clear a flat area on your island away from lava edges. You'll need soil or dirt blocks—gather these from your starting resources or by mining nearby. Create raised beds or rows to organize your crops and prevent accidental falls while farming.
Choose Your Crops
Start with wheat or other basic crops from your initial supplies. Plant seeds in tilled soil and ensure water access—either from a bucket or a small water channel running through your farm. Avoid placing water too close to lava to prevent steam and accidents.
Automate Growth
Light your farm adequately so crops grow at full speed. Use torches or other light sources placed safely away from flammable materials. Organize rows so you can harvest efficiently without stepping near edges.
Expand Gradually
Once your first crop cycle completes, replant and add new crop types. Variety ensures you have multiple food sources and can breed animals if you obtain them. Keep your farm contained and protected with walls to prevent items from falling into the lava during harvest.
