How to Shape Fields With Custom and Rotation Modes

Using the Standard Shapes

Before reaching for Custom Mode, check whether a preset fits. Cube Mode covers rectangular rooms, Sphere Mode and Dome Mode suit open areas, Cylinder Mode works for towers, and Pyramid Mode fits sloped roofs. Each preset exposes size and offset controls in the projector GUI. Adjust these first; presets are cheaper on Fortron than a hand-built custom field of similar size.

Building a Custom Shape

Select Custom Mode in the projector GUI. This lets you define the field's geometry rather than using a formula. Use it for L-shaped bases, hollow shells, or fields that must avoid a specific block. Combine with Block Alter Module if you want the field to modify blocks it touches, or Disintegration Module to destroy blocks in its path.

Rotating and Scaling After Placement

A Rotation Module lets you reorient the field without rebuilding it — useful when you rotate a build or realise the field is facing the wrong way. A Scale Module resizes the field up or down. Both modules are inserted into the projector and adjusted in the GUI. If you use several projectors on one frequency, apply the same rotation and scale to each, or use Field Fusion Module so they merge into a single coherent shape. Always re-check the field boundary after rotating, since corners can shift and leave gaps.
