Troubleshoot Missing or Unloaded Mods
Identifying Mod Loading Issues
If you've installed a mod but it's not functioning, the /mods command helps you confirm whether it actually loaded into your game.
Diagnostic Steps
1. Execute /mods in chat
2. Search through the list for the mod you installed
3. If the mod name appears, it loaded successfully—the issue may be with mod configuration or conflicts
4. If the mod is missing from the list, it failed to load
Next Steps if Missing
When a mod doesn't appear:
- Check that the mod file is in your
modsfolder - Verify the mod version matches your Minecraft version
- Look for error messages in your game's debug log
- Check for mod conflicts with other installed mods
- Ensure you restarted the game after adding the mod file
The /mods command provides a quick sanity check before diving into complex troubleshooting. It's especially helpful when you've installed multiple mods at once and need to isolate which ones are actually active.
