Enable Custom Item Models and Weapons

Requirements

Custom item models—including unique weapons, tools, and armor pieces—require specific mod support to display correctly. The Modern Online Pack includes these models, but they won't render without the right setup.

Setup Steps

1. Verify OptiFine or Fabric Support

  • If using OptiFine, ensure you have a version compatible with your Minecraft release. Custom model data (CMDs) should load automatically.
  • For Fabric players, install a model loader mod (such as Fabric API and a custom model handler) alongside the resource pack.

2. Load the Resource Pack

  • Open your world or server and navigate to Resource Packs in settings.
  • Add the Modern Online Pack and move it to the top of your active packs list.
  • Confirm the pack loads without errors in the chat or log.

3. Test Custom Items

  • Obtain or spawn items known to have custom models (special weapons or named tools from the server).
  • Check that they display with unique textures and shapes in your inventory and hand.
  • If items still appear vanilla, restart your game and verify your mod loader is active.

Troubleshooting

If custom models don't appear, check that connected textures or model mods aren't conflicting with the pack's settings.
