Explore and Map the Surrounding Wilderness Safely

Prepare Before Venturing Out

Before leaving the mansion, equip yourself with a sword, pickaxe, and at least a stack of torches. Bring food to restore health and a bed so you can set a new spawn point if you travel far.

Mark your path back to the mansion by placing torches on the ground or on blocks in a consistent pattern—place them on the right side of your route so you can follow them home.

Explore Methodically

Stay on or near the cliff edges initially; they provide natural landmarks and prevent you from getting lost in dense forests or caves. Note interesting biomes, water sources, and resource-rich areas you discover.

If you find a cave or ravine, mark its entrance with torches and return to the mansion before nightfall. Caves are dangerous without proper preparation and armor.

When you've gathered enough information, return home and plan your next expedition. Use the mansion as your base camp for increasingly ambitious exploration runs.
