Customize Dark UI Colors for Your Preference

Accessing the Resource Pack Files

The Modern Dark UI Resource Pack stores its color definitions in texture and JSON files. To customize colors, locate the pack folder in your resource packs directory and open it in a text editor or image editor.

Modifying Interface Colors

Look for JSON files that define the dark gray tones used across menus. These typically control:

  • Background panel darkness for chests, crafting tables, and brewing stands
  • Border and accent colors on rounded corners
  • Text contrast levels for readability

Edit the hex color values to match your preference. If you prefer a lighter dark theme, increase the brightness values. For deeper blacks, decrease them.

Testing Your Changes

Save your edits and reload the resource pack in-game by pressing F3 + T (or navigating to resource pack settings). Open various screens—chests, crafting tables, villager trades—to see your new colors applied consistently. Ensure text remains readable against your chosen background shade, especially in dark rooms where contrast matters most.

Reverting Changes

If you make mistakes, simply delete your edited files and re-enable the original pack to restore defaults.
