How to Read the Mod Loading Screen Progress Display

Understanding the Progress Bars

When the game starts, the loading screen replaces the vanilla dirt background with a panel listing each mod as it loads. Each entry shows the mod's name and a progress indicator. A bar that fills steadily means that mod is actively loading its assets, classes, or data. A bar that sits still for a long time usually means that mod is waiting on another mod it depends on, or it is doing heavy work like generating configs on first launch.

Spotting Problems

Watch for entries that never complete while others finish. If the screen freezes on one mod name for an unusually long time, that mod is the likely culprit for a slow or stuck startup. Note the name, then check whether it has known conflicts or heavy world-gen tasks. On subsequent launches, the same mod loading faster is normal because configs and caches already exist.

Using the Order

Mods load in dependency order, so entries near the top are usually libraries and core mods, while content mods appear later. If a mod you expect is missing from the list entirely, it failed to be discovered — check that it is in the correct mods folder and matches your game version. The progress display is read-only; you cannot click entries to skip or reorder them.
